Davidson W. Soccer Honored For 17th Straight Year For Excellent Academic Success

DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Wildcat women's soccer squad was again honored for their outstanding academic success this past season as they were recently honored as a team as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
For the 17th consecutive year, Davidson earned the Women's College Team Academic Award from the NSCAA for the 2010-11 season. The program has won the award every year since the inception of it in 1996. The wildcats as a team had a 3.32 GPA and were one of 571 women's teams to earn the academic honor.
A total of 789 teams (218 men, 571 women) posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to earn the NSCAA Team Academic Award. Of that total, 159 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, including Davidson's.
The 'Cats conlcuded its 2011 season at 9-9-2, while finishing with a league mark of 7-4. It was the seventh time in the past eight seasons the Wildcats have had a winning league mark and was the sixth time in the last seven seasons they finished fourth or better.
