CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Davidson women's swim team scored its first dual win of the season when they captured eight events and took home first place finishes in the one-meter and three-meter diving events for a 167-133 victory over College of Charleston on Saturday afternoon in both team's opening CCSA meet of the year.
Despite getting three event wins from Drew Onken, the men's team (1-3, 0-1 CCSA) fell to the Cougars, 163-131.
Led by Lauren Kamperman, the women (1-3, 1-0 CCSA) tallied first or second place finishes in five of the eight events. Kamperman took home first place finishes in the 200 Free with a time of 2:11.04 and then took first in the 400 Free, clocking in at a time of 4:40.43.

In the diving events, Karen Monuszko and Kaliya Burton-Akright each captured first place finishes. Monuszko scored 194.25 points in the one-meter diving and Burton-Akright was second with 172.95 points.
Davidson also got second and third-place finishes in the three-meter diving. Following Burton-Akright's 218.92 points was Jessica Ardecky (180.75) and Monuszko (179.70).
On the men's side, Onken captured individual firsts in the 100 Breaststroke (1:05.90), 200 Breaststroke (2:26.03) and 400 IM (4:36.00).
