Davidson Women’s Cross Country Places 28th at NCAA Southeast Regional

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshman Erin Osment led the Davidson women's cross country team at the NCAA Women's Cross Country Southeast Regional with an 86th place finish in 22:10.3 Saturday morning on the University of Lousiville's E.P. Tom Sawyer 6K course.
Junior Natalie Atabek followed Osment in the 35-team, 240-runner field in 22:34.6 to place 115th, and was closely followed by Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, Sarah Paddon (117th, 22:36.0). Freshmen Manya Swick (190th, 23:48.7) and Lauren Carter (201st, 24:09.6) rounded out the top-five scoring group. Sophomore Maggie Rickard finished in 25:31.1.
Virginia won the team title with 107 points, while NC State trailed with 113 points to earn the automatic bids to the NCAA National Championship. The ACC claimed the top six positions. North Carolina senior Kendra Schaaf placed first individually in 19:52.9. She was the lone finisher under 20 minutes.
