Peitz, Keating Earn Weekly CCSA Honors

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Senior Geoffrey Peitz and junior Tim Keating were selected CCSA Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for meets competed Sept. 26-Oct. 2, as announced by the league office today.
Peitz won all three of the events he contested in the Wildcats' season debut, sweeping the backstrokes and winning the 100 fly with a time of 50.55. The school-record holder in all three events, he won the 100 back with a time of 51.22 and came back to complete the sweep with a winning-time of 1:52.04 in the 200 back. Peitz also swam on the Wildcats' runner-up 200 medley relay. It is the second career weekly honor for Peitz, who was also named CCSA Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 7, 2008.
Keating, who has turned his attention to diving full-time this season, finished second on both the 1-meter (138.67) and 3-meter (145.35) boards to earn valuable points for the Wildcats against the Tigers. It is his first career weekly CCSA honor.
The Wildcats return to action next weekend when they host East Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. at Cannon Natatorium.
