The Bulldogs won the first two points of the second set and never trailed, but the Wildcats were able to tie the score on four occasions. The last came on Ley's kill that knotted the set 17-17. Neisler's kill sparked a 5-2 run to open a 22-19 cushion for the Bulldogs. Davidson battled back to 22-20 on a Lupfer kill, but Samford scored two straight points en route to winning the set.
Samford won the first five points of the third set and led by as many as six points early. Davidson fought all the way back and cut the margin to 24-23 on a Brown kill, but Lauren Hutchinson combined with Neisler for a block on the next point to give the Bulldogs the win.
