Wildcats Host East Carolina at 1 p.m. Saturday

DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson Wildcat swimming and diving teams return to action at Cannon Natatorium this weekend, hosting East Carolina at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Pirates took both team titles last season, defeating the Wildcat women, 174-121, and the Wildcat men, 194.5-97.5 in Greenville.
About the Wildcats
The Clemson Tigers needed a win in the final relay to defeat the Wildcat men, 153-135, in both team's season opener October 1. Senior Geoffrey Peitz was named CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week after winning three titles (100 fly, 50.55; 100 back, 51.22 and 200 back, 1:52.04) against the Tigers, while junior Tim Keating earned CCSA Diver of the Week honors after second-place finishes on both the 1-meter (138.67) and 3-meter (145.35) boards. Junior Drew Onken (200 fly, 1:55.11; 200 breaststroke, 2:06.41), freshman Dylan Ludwick (1000 free, 9:43.69; 500 free, 4:45.11), senior Curtis Chaney (200 free, 1:42.61) were also individual event winners against the Tigers.
The Wildcat women got a couple standout performances from some newcomers in their season debut, a 123-177 loss to Clemson. Frreshman Meredith Nakano won her first collegiate title in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.10), and completed the sweep with a win in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.29). Classmate Mackenzie Robinson won the 200 back with a time of 2:10.27.

The East Carolina men and women's swimming and diving teams were swept in their season opener against North Carolina, October 6. The men lost 191.50-102.50, while the women lost, 195-99.
Freshman Rokas Cepulis won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.23 and finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.18). Sophomore Attila Kiraly won the 400 IM (3:59.96) in the 400 IM. For the women, the only individual first-place finish came from senior Meghan Coyne in the one meter springboard.

The Wildcats will wrap up a three-meet homestand with a 1 p.m. dual meet against William &?Mary on Saturday, October 29 before a trip to CCSA-foe College of Charleston on November 5.
