CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Freshman Erin Osment finished in 13th place to lead the Davidson Wildcat women's cross country team to a 13th-place team finish at the Charlotte Invitational, hosted by the Charlotte 49ers at McAlpine Park Friday evening.
Osment finished 13th individually with a time of 17:38.53. Classmates Sarah Paddon (18:44.97) and Manya Swick (19:07.38) placed 72nd and 94th, overall, and sophomores Megan Mavity (19:16.73, 86th) and Maggie Rickard (19:52.19, 142nd) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcat women.
Virginia Tech finished first with 84 points, followed by Furman (127), Wake Forest (149), Charlotte (152) and Elon (163). The Wildcats finished 13th overall (346) behind Belmont (172), South Carolina (225), Campbell (247), Liberty (272), Georgia Tech (285), USC Upstate (290) and College of Charleston (303).
The Wildcat women will conclude the regular season at the Royal Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Park on October 14. They will then turn their attention to the 2011 Southern Conference Championships, hosted by the College of Charleston at Trophy Lakes Course on October 29.
