Volleyball Coach Tim Cowie Resigns

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson volleyball coach Tim Cowie has resigned his position after nine seasons, Director of Athletics Jim Murphy announced today.
“Leaving a place where you have so many friends and fond memories is always difficult,” said Cowie. “At the forefront is the love and appreciation I have for my players - both past and present.”
Davidson compiled a record of 129-170 during Cowie's tenure, and five Wildcats garnered all-conference honors. In 2002, Cowie led the 'Cats to a 23-11 overall record, a 15-5 mark in league play, and Davidson advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament. Davidson players also earned SoCon All-Academic honors 28 times, and Sarabeth Peele was named third-team ESPN?CoSIDA?Academic All-District in 2010.
“I very much appreciate Tim Cowie's commitment and dedication to Davidson,” said Murphy. “We wish Tim great success going forward.”
The Wildcats return 10 letterwinners and three starters from the 2010 squad. A national search for a replacement will begin immediately.
