Popham Named FCS ADA Academic All-Star

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Davidson defensive lineman Morgan Popham has been named to the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team, it was announced today.
Popham is the first Davidson player to earn the honor since Myles Potter was named to the team in 2008 and one of four players from the PFL?to be named to the team this season.
Popham was named second-team All-Pioneer Football League after starting all 11 games and posting 42 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two sacks, a pass breakup and a blocked kick.
He ranked 11th in the Pioneer Football League in tackles by a defensive lineman and tied for 13th in tackles for loss. He was named first-team ESPN CoSIDA?Academic All-District and first-team PFL?All-Academic.
The Wildcats return 15 starters, including five all-league players, to the 2011 team.
