Conarroe Leads Wildcat Tracksters at Liberty Open

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Senior Heather Conarroe finished second in both the 3000 and 5000 meters to lead the Davidson Wildcat women's track and field team at the Liberty Open this weekend.
Conarroe finished second in the 5000 meters with a personal-best time of 17:49.46, ahead of classmate Sarah Cline (18:49.73). Conarroe also finished second in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:28.46, and Cline was again the Wildcats' second-best finisher in the event with a time of 10:47.79.
Junior Erin Lupfer tied for ninth place in the high jump by clearing 1.55 meters, and freshman Mackenzie Hicks competed in the 60-meters (8.64), 200 meters (29.78) and 400 meters (1:06.90) with 31st, 47th and 26th place finishes, respectively.
Freshman Maggie Rickard finished 15th in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:35.25, and sophomore Haley Holway placed 13th with a time of 3:28.49 in the 1000 meters.
The Wildcats will return to action at the Niswonger Invitational in Johnson City, Tenn., next weekend.
