Martin and Onken Repeat as CCSA Swimmers of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. – After earning league honors the last time out, senior Lindsey Martin and sophomore Drew Onken repeated as CCSA Swimmers of the Week, for meets competed Jan. 10-16, behind their performances against Georgia Tech Saturday and announced today by the conference office.
Martin was named CCSA Swimmer of the Week for a fourth time this season after winning both the 50 and 100 freestyles against the Yellow Jackets Saturday. Martin won the 50 free with a time of 24.19 and remained undefeated in the 100 free by winning a share of the title with a time of 51.65. She also anchored the Wildcats' runner-up 400-medley relay to a time of 4:06.76.
Onken also earned CCSA Swimmer of the Week honors for a fourth time this season, after winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:03.19, second best in the conference this season to only his own time of 3:59.11 at the Kenyon Invitational. He also finished runner-up in the 200 breast with a time of 2:06.37 and concluded the meet with a split of 59.08 on the breaststroke leg of the Wildcats' 400 medley relay.
College of Charleston's Peter Gibbons and Florida Gulf Coast's Karmin McNamara were named CCSA Men's and Women's Diver of the Week, respectively. McNamara earned her third diver of the week honor after winning the 3-meter with a score of 275.17 and exhibitioned in the 1-meter, scoring 235.05. Gibbons finished second in both diving events this past weekend against UNC Wilmington to pick up his fourth weekly honor. He scored 217.57 on the 1-meter and registered a 202.35 in the 3-meter.
