Wrestling Hosts Duke Thursday Night

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team will host their first dual meet of the season Thursday night, hosting the Duke Blue Devils in Belk Arena at 7 p.m. The meet is the first of three in four days for the Wildcats.
Fans unable to attend the meet in person can follow online via live video and live stats.
Scouting the Wildcats: Davidson enters the meet with a 2-3 record after going 2-2 last week on the road. The Radsky twins continue to lead the 'Cats in their senior year. Vitaly Radsky (141 pounds) was named the SoCon Wreslter of the Week following an undefeated performance at the Pitt duals and is off to a career-best 9-1 start. Alex Radsky (133 pounds) is also off to a career-best start and leads the team in wins with a 15-5 record. He's looking to rebound after going 1-3 during the 'Cats Pennsylvania road trip last week. Classmate Charlie Wolff is also off to a career-best start with an 11-4 record. He had not won more than 11 matches in a single-year in each of his first three years. Sophomore Scott Ray (149 pounds) and junior Tyler Mullen (165 pounds) have also won three of their last four matches.
Scouting the Blue Devils: The Blue Devils opened the dual match season Tuesday, suffering a 31-9 defeat to Southern Conference foe The Citadel. Davidson was downed by The Citadel by a similar score (29-9) in their dual match opener back on Dec. 18. Redshirt freshman Bret Klopp (174 pounds) leads the team with a 20-6 overall record and defeated just defeated ranked J.C. Oddo of The Citadel.
The Series: Duke holds a 36-11 advantage all-time against the 'Cats, winning the last three meetings. The Wildcats last prevailed in 2007, taking a 18-17 win in Durham. Duke won last year's meeting in Durham, 36-13.
Up Next: Wildcats fans will need to get up bright and early Saturday as Davidson will host Clarion at 9 a.m. They will then host conference foe UNCG Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
