
Men's Soccer Ranks Eighth in South Region

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – After a solid opening weekend, the Davidson men's soccer team was ranked eighth in the South region in the first NSCAA/Hendrickcars.com Regional Rankings of the 2010 season Tuesday.
The Wildcats are 1-0-1 through two games, earning a convincing 6-1 win over Marist and battling to a 2-2 draw with Bowling Green. Senior forward Yannick Pilgrim was named the Southern Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after earning MVP honors at the Davidson adidas classic. He leads the SoCon with two goals and two assists.
North Carolina earned the top spot, while 2010 Davidson opponents No. 8 Duke (Oct. 5) and No. 12 Wake Forest (Nov. 2) are second and third, respectively. SoCon foe UNCG ranks 10th.
The NSCAA conducts the most widely recognized national and regional soccer ranking system in the country as a service to the general public and its members.
The organization releases polls each week throughout the season.
