Fountain's 68 Leads 'Cats at Mason Rudolph

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Freshman Richard Fountain moved into a tie for third place with a three-under-par 68 as Davidson matched their first-round 287 to place seventh after the second round of the Mason Rudolph Men's Golf Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club Saturday.
Fountain (Raleigh, N.C.) leads Davidson with a two-day total of 139 (71+68), three-under-par. Sophomore John Skeadas (Savannah, Ga.) moved into a tie for 17th place at 142 (72+70) after finishing the second round with a one-under 70. Junior Jackson Taylor (Wilmington, N.C.) matched his first-round one-over 72 and remains in a tie for 29th (144). Freshman Sam Echikson's fired a 77 to give Davidson another 287 and a two-round total of 574.
Southern Conference foe Chattanooga (572) fired a 282 to drop the Wildcats down to seventh place.
Memphis leads with a total team score of 558 (274+284). Jack Belote of Memphis leads at 135 (66+69), seven-under-par.
A total of 17 teams are competing in the tournament on the par-71, 7,100 yard course. The final round is currently in progress.
