DAVIDSON, N.C. — Opening the season with a 2-0 blanking of UNC Wilmington at home last Sunday, Davidson returns to the field this weekend when it plays rival Charlotte on Friday, Aug. 27 and then High Point on Sunday, Aug. 29, in women's soccer action.
The Matchup
Davidson (1-0) hits the road for the first time when it heads down I-77 to play cross-county rival Charlotte (0-0) on Friday night, before returning home for a 7 p.m. contest against High Point (1-1) on Sunday evening.
The All-Time Series
The Wildcats trail the series, 3-9-1, vs. Charlotte. They dropped a 2-0 decision to the 49ers last year, but have won three of the past four meetings, including a 2-1 victory at Charlotte in 2005. Davidson has owned the series as of late vs. High Point, winning the last six contests and are 8-1 overall in the series.

High Point returns 13 letterwinners from last year's NCAA Tournament team ... the Panthers were picked to finish fourth in the Big South ... they have split their first two games of the 2010 season with a 1-0 win vs. Francis Marion and a 1-0 defeat to Campbell ... Danniel Rosado was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week ... leading scorer Janay Whittaker returns after scoring three goals for six points ... HPU was just 2-8-1 a season ago on the road ... Head coach Marty Beall is in his second season after leading HPU to its third Big South Tourney Title last year.
Next on the Schedule
