Kayne Promoted to Winston-Salem, Debut Rained Out

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Former Davidson College standout Zach Kayne has been promoted to the Winston-Salem Dash and was set to make his debut tonight, but the team's game with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans has been rained out and rescheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Kayne, who played in just one game with the Kannapolis Intimidators, Single-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, before being placed on the disabled list, was assigned to the Dash along with teammate RHP Terry Doyle, while Justin Edwards was moved up to Double-AA Birmingham Barons. Kayne went 1-for-2 and drove in a run in his debut with the Intimidators on May 1.
Kayne was drafted by the White Sox in 2009 in the 22nd round and reported to Great Falls, Montana for his professional debut. While at Great Falls, he batted .266 in 54 games in the Advanced Rookie Pioneer League.
