Wildcats Place 18th at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Jackson Taylor shot a team-best, one-under par 73 during the final round of the Furman Intercollegiate to lead the Davidson men's golf team to an 18th-place finish in a strong, 24-team field Sunday on the Furman University Golf Course.
The Wildcats saved their best round for last, scoring a 301 to total 920 (313
+306+301) for the tournament on the par-72, 6,994-yard course.
Taylor placed in a tie for 28th out of 135 with a three-round score of 225 (78+74+73). Junior captain Bobby Urso rebounded from a tough second round to match his first-round, two-over par 74 and finish in a tie for 36th place at 227 (74+79+74).
Freshman John Skeadas placed 80th with a three-day score of 234 (81+74+79). Junior Christopher Rollins (80+79+79) and freshman Walker Allen (81+82+75) both finished at 238.
Ben Martin of No. 18 Clemson and Steven Fox were named the co-champions with six-under par 210's. Clemson took the team title with a score of 865.
Southern Conference foes Chattanooga (879), Furman (893) and Western Carolina (899) followed Clemson in second, third and fourth place, respectively. Wofford tied Charleston Southern for eighth at 907, Samford placed 13th (913) and Elon placed in a tie for 16th at 306. Appalachian State trailed Davidson in 20th place at 933.
The 'Cats will take next weekend off before co-hosting the Irish Creek Collegiate with UNC Charlotte Apr. 3-4.
