'Cats Start Final Three-Game Homestand vs. CofC on Saturday

DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team will start the first of three straight home games to finish out the year with a matchup against College of Charleston on Saturday as it will be the Wildcats WBCA PinkZone Day game.
The Opening Tip
The Wildcats (12-13, 10-7 SoCon) are seeking to halt a three-game losing streak when they play host to College of Charleston (19-8, 13-5 SoCon) on Saturday evening at Belk Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
PinkZone Promotion
The women's basketball team will host the 3rd annual WBCA Pink Zone for Breast Cancer Awareness on Saturday. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
The series has Davidson leading 20-8. The Wildcats' though after winning 13 straight in the series, have seen College of Charleston take the last four meetings, including this year's first meeting, 84-78.
Scouting the Wildcats
•After winning three straight, the 'Cats have hit a bit of a rut, having dropped their last three including Monday's 65-54 setback at Chattanooga.
•Davidson cut a 20-point deficit to seven three times in the closing minutes, but got no closer.
•The loss overshadowed senior Alex Thompson, who became the 13th Wildcat to clip the 1,000-point mark as she finished with a team-high tying 16 points to give her 1,003 for her career.
•The senior currently is the program's all-time leader in three-point (.415) and free throw (.835) percentage, and ranks second in career assists (327).
•Thompson, who has broke the double-digit mark in points 19 times this year, leads the team with a 13.0 ppg average. She also leads the team with 85 assists and is second in three-balls, 39.
•Sophia Aleksandravicius, second on the team with an 11.8 ppg average, tallied her 11th double-double – ninth vs. SoCon teams – on Monday with 16 points and 13 rebounds. She is third in the league in rebounding at 8.3. The freshman had a double-double last time vs. CofC.
•Aleksandravicius is averaging a double-double at home, 15.1 ppg and 10.6 rpg.
•Davidson ranks in the SoCon top-five overall in scoring (1st- 66.8), field goal percentage (3rd- .417), 3-point field goal percentage (2nd- .351), rebounding (5th- 39.1) and blocks (5th- 3.3).
•The 'Cats are 6-3 at home (4-3 vs. SoCon) and winners of three of their last five.
•Davidson will close out the year with three home games in a row, this after playing a span of eight of its past nine games on the road from Jan. 16-Feb. 15.
•Coach Watts (ninth season) is the program's all-time winningest coach with a 142-119 record.
•This will be the Wildcats' 29th meeting with Charleston in the all-time series as they lead 20-8. After winning 13 straight in the series, Davidson has lost the last four though.
•The two teams first meeting this year was in Charleston, Jan. 16, with the 'Cats putting five scorers in double digits, but it was not enough in falling 84-78.
•Senior Monica Laune had a season-best 19 points, draining a career-best five treys.
Scouting the Cougars
•College of Charleston scored their 13th league win last Monday with a road win at Wofford, 65-51. A 19-6 run for the Cougars in the first half opened up an impressive 31-17 advantage.
•Leading-scorer Tonia Gerty netted a game-best 16 points to go along with six assists. She is one of four Cougars scoring 10 or more points, dropping in 10.9 ppg.
•The guard leads the conference with 143 assists, good for 5.3 per game and 27th nationally.
•Senior Jade Hughes became College of Charleston's all-time leader in made three's with a pair on Monday as she sits at 192 career three-pointers. She has drained a team-high 48 this year.
•CofC is just 2-2 in its last four games, after rattling off a five-game win streak, Jan. 23-Feb. 1.
•Since their last meeting with Davidson, the Cougars are sporting a 7-3 mark.
•The Cougars are 7-4 on the road (6-2 vs. SoCon) and have won their last five.
•Six seniors dot the Cougars' roster.
•As a team, CofC ranks in the SoCon top-five in scoring defense (3rd- 59.6), field goal percentage (4th- .414), defensive field goal percentage (2nd- .370), 3-point percentage (3rd-.348), and assists (3rd- 13.3).
•Last time vs. Davidson, Erica Williams and Brooke Kotcella dropped in 25 and 27 points, respectively, while Gerty had 16 points and eight assists.
