Peele Earns Davidson’s First Ever SoCon Player of the Month Honor

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Senior outside hitter Sarabeth Peele has been named SoCon Offensive Player of the Month for October, becoming the first Davidson volleyball player to do so since the league began giving out the honor in 2006.
The senior outside hitter from San Antonio, Texas, was named SoCon Player of the Week twice during the month of October. In 12 matches, she finished the month with 198 kills (4.40/set), while hitting .281, to go along with 108 digs (2.40/set), 29 blocks, 12 assists and six service aces.
Peele was named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week for week six after leading the Wildcats to their best start in SoCon play since 1999. She topped the 20-kill mark for the first time this season, tallying 21 in a 3-1 win over Wofford on Sept. 28 and equaled that performance the following Saturday to lead the Wildcats to their first ever win over Samford in a five-set decision Oct. 2.
Peele repeated as SoCon Offensive Player of the Week the following week behind a pair of 20-kill matches and double-doubles. In a five-set win over Gardner-Webb on Oct. 5, she tallied 23 kills and 13 digs, and in the team's sweep of The Citadel on Oct. 10, she notched 20 kills and 12 digs, while hitting a season-high .486. She led the Wildcat offense with 56 kills (4.67/s) and 26 digs (2.17 per set) during that span.
Peele is the first Davidson volleyball player to be named SoCon Player of the Month since the league began giving out the honor in the 2006 season. She has been named SoCon Player of the Week three times in her career, also earning the honor for the first week of 2007. She enters the weekend ranked fifth in all-time Davidson history with 1,585 career kills.
