• After five games away from home to start the campaign, Davidson hosts Monmouth in its home opener Monday night.
• It's the most games away from home to start a season in coach Bob McKillop's 22 years at Davidson.
• Davidson has won 18 consecutive home openers. The Wildcats' last home opening loss was a 76-59 setback against Alabama in 1991.
• The Wildcats are in the midst of a stretch where they play 10 of their first 13 games away from home. Following tonight's contest, the 'Cats travel to Charleston for two games to open the conference schedule.
• The Wildcats are coming off a 71-58 loss to Rhode Island in the Ryan Center Saturday.
• Davidson returns eight lettermen and three starters from last year's squad, which posted a 16-15 record and an 11-7 mark in the Southern Conference South Division, good for third place. Four of the Wildcats' top six scorers are back.
• The Wildcats have 10 underclassman on the team (six freshman, four sophomores) and feature just one senior and four juniors.
• Davidson was picked to finish third in the SoCon South Division again this season, while Monmouth was picked 10th in the NEC.
• The Hawks are coming off a 54-50 overtime loss in conference action at Central Connecticut Saturday.
• R.J. Rutledge leads Monmouth in scoring, averaging 10.5 points, and Ed Waite is averaging 10 points and 7.7 rebounds.
• Monmouth opponents are scoring 57.7 points a game and shooting 37.8 percent from the field.
• Davidson coach Bob McKillop is 15 wins shy of his 400th career victory.

• Monmouth and Davidson have met just once on the hardwood, a 64-55 Hawk win at the Joe Lapchick Memorial Tournament at St. John's Nov. 24, 1990.
