Onken, McRae Earn CCSA Swimmer of the Week Honors

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Sophomore Drew Onken was selected CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week, and freshman Brian McRae was named CCSA Men's Diver of the Week, as the Davidson men swept the weekly awards from the opening weekend, Oct. 1-3, as announced today by the League office.
Onken won three individual titles in the Wildcats' season-opening meet against Clemson Friday. He won the 200 fly with a time of 1:53.63, the 200 breaststroke at 2:07.55 and the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.72. He also swam on Davidson's third-place 200 medley relay, finishing with a split of 23.04 in the breaststroke leg.
It is the first honor of the season for Onken and the fourth career honor. He was named CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for Oct. 9, Oct. 22 and Dec. 9 last season.
McRae finished second in both the 3-meter and 1-meter events. He scored 195.82 in the 3-meter and tallied 201.60 in the 1-meter event. It is the first career honor for the freshman.
Davidson will return to action, traveling to East Carolina Oct. 15 at 5 p.m.
