Davidson Hosted W. Tennis Fall Classic II This Past Weekend

DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's tennis team hosted its final Fall event before heading to regionals when the Wildcats held the Davidson Fall Classic II this past weekend at the Covington Tennis Courts.
Joining Davidson over the weekend was Charlotte, Coastal Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Coastal Carolina was the overall winner taking 6 of the 12 singles flights. Coastal's Mihaela Bunea captured the No. 1 flight without dropping a match. She also teamed with Diana Mortlock to take the No. 1 doubles flight.
For Davidson, freshmen Frizzi Bschorer (Barnin, Germany) and Brites Moniz-Soares (Angra Do Heroismo, Portugal) tied for first in their respective singles flights. Senior Samantha Galainena (Burr Ridge, Ill.) took second in flight No. 4, and sophomore Catherine Wood (Greensboro, N.C.) and freshman Tamara Hill (Chapel Hill, N.C.) teamed up to tie for first in the No. 4 doubles flight.
The Wildcats now gear up for the ITA Southeast Regionals, which will be played on the campus of Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C. The event will take place from Oct. 21-24.
