The Wildcats used a late-game rally to win the first set in extended play, 27-25. Davidson trailed most of the set and was trailing by as many as five, 17-12, before starting a comeback. The Wildcats begin chipping away and used a 4-0 run to pull ahead 19-18 on a Christine Perzinski service ace. The Rams answered with a 4-0 run of their own and eventually took a 24-22 lead on a kill from Barnwell. Peele won the next point to help Davidson survive a set point, and Perzinski took the next point to knot the set at 24. Davidson needed another comeback in the second set, after getting down early 8-3. Perzinski, Lupfer and Lawson won three straight points for the 'Cats to put them within two, 12-10, but a pair of Wildcat errors flipped the momentum in favor of the Rams, as they pulled ahead 16-11. Davidson, though, rattled off eight straight points - including four kills by Peele - to take a 19-16 lead they would not surrender. A putaway from Madison Benedict secured the 25-21 win for the 2-0 advantage in the match.
The Wildcats finished out the match with a dominant performance in the third and final set. Holding a tentative 10-8 advantage, Davidson went on an 8-0 run to open up a commanding 18-8 lead and closed the set with another 6-0 run to win the match with a 25-10 victory.
