DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson men's golf team was named a 2008-09 National All-Academic Team, as announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Davidson earned a team grade-point-average of above 3.0 this past season to earn the recognition from the GCAA. The Wildcats are one of two Southern Conference squads to receive the national honor, joining Wofford among the 82 Division I schools on the list.
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college of university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
The 'Cats kick off the 2009-10 season when they tee off at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate in Florence, S.C. The three-round tournament will be held at the Country Club of South Carolina Sept. 13-15.
