Colley Breaks Own Record at UNC Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Kim Colley and Kennesia Martin continued to lead the way for the Davidson Wildcat women's track and field team, setting school records over the weekend at the 2009 Joe Hilton UNC Invitational in Chapel Hill over the weekend.
Colley finished 10th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.43 in the 100 meters, narrowly bettering her own school-record of 12.44 from a season ago. She also finished a team-best 16th in the 200 meters with a time of 25.44.
Martin placed fourth in the triple jump with a jump of 11.97 meters (39.03.25), bettering her own school-record jump of 11.78 meters from earlier in the season at the Liberty Invitational.
Sophomore Danielle Ruggieri finished fifth with a time of 10:23.91 to lead the Wildcats in the 3000 meters. Classmate Heather Conarroe (9th, 10:47.15) and senior Emily King (10th, 10:50.73) also made strong showings for the 'Cats in the event.
The Wildcat women will now gear up for the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships, held on the campus of Georgia Southern April 25 and 26.
