
Wildcat Track & Field Heads to SoCon Indoor Championships This Weekend

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson men's and women's track & field teams will head to Clemson, S.C. this weekend to compete in the 2009 Southern Conference Indoor Championships, held at the Clemson University Track and Field Complex.
The Championships will kick off on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and run through Sunday evening, with the awards ceremony tentatively scheduled for 4:40 p.m.
Last season, the Wildcat men took home a fifth-place finish at the indoor championships, led by Alex Hoyt's school record-breaking run in the 3,000-meter run. The 4x400-meter relay team earned All-SoCon honors by finishing in the top three.
Davidson finished in sixth on the women's side last season, with four student-athletes receiving All-SoCon accolades, including a 1-2 finish in the 5,000-meters, with Brenna Burns and Caroline Sanker taking the top two spots.
The Western Carolina Catamounts are the defending champions on both the men's and women's sides, with the men winning two out of the last three.
