Peele Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- After leading the Davidson Wildcat volleyball team to a perfect 2-0 weekend, junior Sarabeth Peele has been honored as the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for October 28, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Peele tallied 44 kills in 10 sets for a 4.40 average in Davidson's two conference victories last week. She also posted 23 digs, three blocks and a service ace. In the classroom, the classics major sports a 3.8 GPA.
In the Wildcats' 3-2 win against Western Carolina Friday, Peele recorded a double-double with 20 kills and 15 digs along with four assists, two blocks and an ace. Leading the 'Cats in a second-straight 3-2 win, she recorded 24 kills, eight digs, a block and an ace against Appalachian State Sunday afternoon.
Peele currently leads the Southern Conference with 391 kills and averages 4.03 per set.
Other nominees included Appalachian State women's soccer player Katy Dodd, Elon football player A. J. Harris and Samford women's soccer player Natalie Fleming.
