
Peele Named CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week
Peele and Lane Given CCSA Weekly Honors

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Senior team captain Merritt Peele and freshman Ben Lane have been selected as the CCSA Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for meets competed Jan. 5-11, as announced by the league office.
Peele had a strong performance last weekend, swimming a time of 4:50.29 in the 500 free and finishing second with a 9:55.56 in the 1000-free against South Carolina (third against Duke). He also swam the lead-off leg of the 400-free relay that finished with a time of 3:13.58 and finished with a time of 21.98 (third against Duke, fourth against South Carolina) in the 50 free. It is the first weekly honor of the season for Peele.
His score of 265.90 in the 3-meter event placed second against South Carolina and third against Duke. With a score of 223.25 in the 1-meter, Lane placed third against both teams. It is the fourth time he has been given the weekly honor. He was last named diver of the week after winning both the 1- and 3-meter events at the Davidson Invitational. Lane also took the honor in back-to-back weeks for his performances against William &?Mary and Emory.
