DAVIDSON, N.C. – For the second consecutive year, the Davidson College women's volleyball recruiting class has been noted one of the country's best, earning High Honorable Mention accolades from PrepVolleyball.com and ranking among the top 65 recruiting classes in the country.
Davidson is one of 20 schools to receive PrepVolleyball.com's High Honorable Mention ranking. After ranking the top 30 recruiting classes, PrepVolleyball.com lists the remaining schools, including Davidson, as Highest Honorable Mention, High Honorable Mention and Honorable Mention, naming 93 schools in total.

"I was excited to hear that our 2008 recruiting class is viewed by our peers as one of the best in the country," head coach Tim Cowie said. "We were very happy to receive this special recognition from PrepVolleyball.com."
Davidson's 2008 recruiting class welcomes 6'2 middle blocker Madison Benedict (San Antonio, Texas), 6'1 opposite Erin Lupfer (San Diego, Calif.), 6'1 outside Jessica McAlvany (Roswell, Ga.), 6'0 middle blocker Ally Miller (Austin, Texas) and local player of the year, 6'1 Myers Park standout, outside hitter Christine Perzinski (Charlotte, N.C.).
"We worked diligently to add to our successful 2007 class and add depth at every position," Cowie said. "Obviously we know that this year's class will have a huge impact on the success of our program, but national recognition is an honor that each of our incoming freshmen have earned during their outstanding high school and club careers."
Davidson will open the 2008 season Aug. 29 at Wake Forest University.
