
Stegger and Stringfield Nab CCSA Swimmer of the Week Honors

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Senior Fiete Stegger and freshman Anna Stringfield have been named Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Men's and Women's Swimmer of the Week, for meets competed Jan. 28-Feb. 3, as announced by the conference office.
Stegger led his team to a win over CCSA-foe VMI (163-57) in the Wildcats' final regular-season meet of the season on Saturday at Radford. He placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:58.49, including a backstroke leg (25.17) faster than the reigning backstroke Davidson record-holder. He also finished with a time of 2:12.94 in the 200 breaststroke, good for fourth place in the CCSA top 16, and helped the 200 free relay to a time of 1:30.06.
Stringfield led the Wildcat women to wins over CCSA-foes Radford and VMI in the team's final regular-season meet of the season. In her individual events, Stringfield turned in a personal Davidson-best time of 5:06.63 in the 500 free and finished third in the 100 free with a time of 54.16. She also swam the lead-off leg (25.71) for the Cats' 200 free relay that finished with a time of 1:42.09.
It is the second weekly honor this season for Stegger, who also earned the accolade for the week of Oct. 15-21 after winning a pair of titles at the Cats' dual meet with Emory. This is the first time Stringfield has earned Swimmer of the Week honors in her brief career.
The Wildcats will compete at the CCSA Championships at the Huntersville Aquatic Center from Feb. 21-23.
