HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Davidson concluded its season opener with a final round 323 to finish tied for 13th at the third annual Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate hosted by Francis Marion University. The 54-hole event was played on the 6,828-yard, par 72 Wexford Plantation layout.
Freshman Bobby Urso led Davidson in the individual standings with a two-day total of 235 (77-77-81) placing him in a tie for 52nd.
Other Davidson competitors included Robert Mayo (T-56th/+20), Christopher Rollins (T-58th/+21), David Fowler (T-71st/+28) and Michael Saari (T-75th/+29).
Elon, who entered the final round four strokes back of SoCon foe Furman, carded a 300 to claim the team title, while the Paladins finished in second seven shots clear of Kennesaw State.
Jimmy Lytle of Elon continued his impressive play to win individual medalist honors thanks to a six-under 210 (69-69-72).
The Wildcats return to action March 3-4 at the Lonnie D. Small Tournament hosted by Campbell University at Keith Hills Country Club in Buies Creek, N.C.
