Wildcats To Make Appearance on SportSouth This Season

DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team will make an appearance on national television, with SportSouth broadcasting the Wildcats road contest at Elon on Saturday, Feb. 7, as announced by the Southern Conference.
It's one of five conference women's games SportSouth will broadcast this year, including the SoCon Tournament's two semifinal games and the championship game, which will be held in Chattanooga, Tenn., this year.
SportSouth will televise 22 games in on all for both the men and women, with an additional two games scheduled to air on its sister network, FSN South. The SoCon Saturdays brand, utilized to promote SoCon football on SportSouth, will continue for the 2008-09 SoCon basketball schedule, as 17 of 19 regular-season games will be televised on Saturdays.
SportSouth, the nation's sixth largest regional sports network, reaches more than nine million cable and satellite homes across a six-state region and FSN South, the nation's largest regional sports network, reaches more than 12 million cable and satellite homes in seven states in the Southeast.
Davidson opens up its 2008-09 season with an exhibition game against Mars Hill College on Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. in Belk Arena, before jumping into the regular season, Nov. 15-16, when it travels to Rock Hill, S.C. to play in the Winthrop Hilton Garden Inn Classic.
