Wang and Fanney Represent W. Tennis At ITA Southeast Regionals

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Senior Michele Fanney (Virginia Beach, Va.) and junior Teresa Wang (Charlotte, N.C.) both played in the singles and doubles draws for the Davidson women's tennis team as they competed at the ITA Southeast Regional Tournament on the campus of Wake Forest.
Both participated in the singles draw with Fanney earning a spot in the main draw, while Wang competed in the qualifying bracket. In the round of 64, Fanney opened up against Laura Reichert of UNC and battled through, but fell in the end, 6-4, 6-4, to end her run at tournament.
Wang, competing in the qualifying bracket to try and reach the main singles draw, also played a very close match, before falling 6-4, 7-6(6) to Alexandra Sitnikova of East Tennessee State in the first round.
The duo then teamed up in the main doubles draw, playing a first-round match against Jennifer Meredith and Natalie Pluskota of Tennessee. The Wildcats' run in the ITA tournament came to end right there as Wang and Fanney fell 8-4.
Davidson wraps up its fall season with a trip to the Virginia Tech Fall Tournament to close out the month of October, playing Oct. 31-Nov. 1
