DAVIDSON, N.C. — After finishing another week at 2-0 with wins over Samford (3-0) and Chattanooga (5-0) at home, the Davidson women's soccer team seeks to push its season-high win streak to six straight with games at College of Charleston and home against The Citadel this weekend.
The Matchup
The Wildcats (6-2-3, 4-0-0 SoCon) look to remain unbeaten in league play when it travels to College of Charleston (8-3-2, 1-2-1 SoCon) on Friday for a 7 p.m. affair, before then returning home for a matchup against The Citadel (2-8-1, 0-4-0 SoCon) on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The All-Time Series
Winners of the past three meetings, with two of them coming in overtime, Davidson owns a 9-3-0 record against the Cougars. As for their all-time series against the Bulldogs, the Wildcats are unbeaten with a 7-0-0 record.
Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson pushed its season-high win streak to four games with league wins over Samford and Chattanooga last weekend ... their 5-0 triumph over the Mocs set a season-high for goals scored in a game this year ... the Wildcats' offense and defense have been clicking on all cylinders lately, having scored 12 goals the past four games and allowing just two on defense ... with two more shutout wins last weekend, Davidson pushed its shutout total to four on the year ... the defense ranks third in goals allowed with just 11 given up in 11 contests ... junior Kyri Bye-Nagel was honored with her second SoCon Player of the Week award on Tuesday after scoring three goals last weekend ... the junior paces the team with six goals and 13 points, ranking her second and fourth, respectively, in the league in both categories ... in all, nine Wildcats have found the back of the net ... Megan Manthey has led the charge for the Cougars, ranking first or second in the SoCon in shots (47), points (17– 6 goals, 5 assists), and game-winning goals (3) ... Hope Atkinson is second on the team in goals (3) and points (8) ...
