Sanker Finishes Fifth, Paces Wildcat women at Wake Relays

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Junior Caroline Sanker paced the Wildcat women's cross country team to a third-place finish at the Wake Forest Relays on Friday afternoon.

Sanker teamed up with freshman Lauren Childs for a fifth-place finish with a combined time of 37:10 in the relay. She also recorded the top Wildcat time (17:41), which placed her fifth individually out of 51 runners.

For the competition, each team was divided into pairs, and each runner ran two legs of 2.5K in tag-team fashion, for a total team distance of 10k. The total time for each runner is the sum of both splits.

The Wildcat women take a week off before getting back on the trails and heading down I-77 to the Asics Winthrop Invitational on Sept. 15.
