GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro got straight-set wins by its Nos. one, two, four, five, and six singles players as the Davidson men's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 6-1 loss to the Spartans in Southern Conference action. Davidson closed out the regular-season with an overall record of 7-15 and 2-7 in conference play. UNCG ran its mark to 7-14 overall and 2-7 in league play as well.
The singles matches were played first, as Davidson's lone singles point came from its No. 3 player, sophomore Ethan Jaffee, who secured a straight set 6-3, 7-6 win.
Jaffee and senior John Bolton earned a doubles win, their first as a duo this season, when they defeated Andrey Bubnov and Arsel Kumdereli of UNCG, but the two teams split the doubles matchs, before UNCG won the third by default to wrap up the 6-1 win.
The Wildcats now ready themselves for the conference championships, which will be held Apr. 19-22 in Charleston, S.C. Davidson will need to pick up three more wins to continue the program's 34- year streak of having at least 10 wins in a season.
