Wildcat Swimmers Open Competition at 2007 Colonial Athletic Association Championships

Day One Results
FAIRFAX, Va. - After the opening day of competition in the 2007 Colonial Athletic Association Championships, the Wildcat women's swimming and diving team is in sixth place with 62 points, while the men are in ninth with 26 points.
Host George Mason leads all women's competition with 111 points, followed by William and Mary (80) and UNC Wilmington (76). The Davidson women also trail Delaware (70) and Townson (64).
Defending champion UNC Wilmington leads on the men's side with 68 points, while George Mason and Old Dominion are close behind with 64 points each. The Wildcat men are in last place after day one.
William and Mary took the top spot in the 200 medley in conference-record time, while the Wildcat women's team of Brigit Barry, Caroline Curtiss, Jessica Totten and Kirsten Allen finished ninth.
Wilmington nabbed the top spot in the event on the men's side, while Scott Frantz, Nate Ladner, Miller Williams and Jon Smith helped the Wildcat men to a sixth-place finish.
The William and Mary women repeated as champions and set another CAA mark in the 800 free relay, while Ellie Trefzger, Martha Culp, Caitlin Sheetz and Courtney Sanders swam to a ninth-place finish for the Davidson women. George Mason took top honors in the event for the men.
In the only diving event of the day, Stephannie McKinney placed seventh for the Wildcat women to earn points in the 3-meter springboard competition.
Competition continues today and runs through Saturday.
