
'Cats Host Elon, Greensboro at Belk Arena this Weekend

The Match Ups
Davidson (10-17, 5-9) hosts the Elon Phoenix (15-13, 9-5) at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Belk Arena, and the UNC Greensboro Spartans (15-13, 8-6) at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
The All-Time Series
Davidson holds an 8-4 lead in the all-time series with the Phoenix, despite a 0-3 setback earlier this season in Elon on Oct. 6. Greensboro extended its slight lead in the all-time series to 21-18 with a 3-0 triumph this season in their own Fleming Gym on Sun., Oct. 7.
Scouting the Phoenix
Elon enters the weekend with a 9-5 league mark, sitting just above Greensboro in fifth place with an identical 15-13 record. The Phoenix split matches last weekend, dropping a 1-3 decision at Furman and winning a 3-1 battle at Wofford the next day.
Elon relies on a balanced attack, with six players at or very near the 200-kill mark. Britany Westphal paces the offense with 285 kills and averages a team-leading 3.13 kills per game. Setter Natalie Moore has 826 assists. Kelley Blakewood leads the team in both digs and aces with 429 and 37, respectively, and ranks fourth and seventh, respectively, among league leaders. Greensboro is led by Branagan Fuller, who enters the weekend with 446 kills and averages a team-leading 4.13 per game. Fuller, ranked third in the league in kills per game, is also a serving threat with 40 aces, third on the team. Kaitlyn Nortz has 355 kills (3.35/g) to go along with a team-best 115 blocks. Emily Lindborg has the fourth-best hitting percentage in the SoCon (.311), setter Lisa Fawell ranks third with 1189 assists. Catherine Hanners paces the defense with 547 digs, third best in the SoCon.
