Mayo Leads Golf with 11th Place Showing at ODU Seascape Collegiate

KITTY HAWK, N.C. -- Robert Mayo carded a two-day total of one-over 141 and Davidson fired a season-low 284 Tuesday afternoon to place tied for 10th at the 2007 ODU Seascape Collegiate. The 36-hole event was played on the 6131-yard, par 70 Seascape Golf Course layout.
Mayo, a freshman from Austin, Texas, opened with a 71 Monday, before recording a personal best even-par 70 in his final round to finish tied for 11th. His place on the individual leaderboard is the lowest by a Wildcat through three events this fall.
Fellow first-year player Chris Rollins, matched Mayo's even-par 70, but suffered a 79 on his opening 18 to finish tied for 39th. Other Davidson competitors included David Fowler (T-55th / 150), Bobby Urso (T-59th / 151) and Ryan Crum (T-79th / 153).
Richmond's Jordan Utley claimed individual medalist honors with a three-under 137 (67-70), while Hartford bettered Campbell, the defending champions, by three strokes.
Davidson will conclude its 2007 fall campaign at the Western Carolina Intercollegiate in Cashiers, N.C., Nov. 5 and 6.
