Women's Cross Country finish Ninth at Paul Short Run

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- The Davidson women's cross country team crossed the finish line ninth out of 35 teams at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Junior captain Brenna Burns paced the Wildcats, placing 17th with a time of 21:21, and sophomore Carolina Sanker finished 23rd with a time of 21:24. Both runners were named to the Paul Short All-Invitational team for finishing in the top 25.
Junior Megal Atias (22:21, 64th) and sophomore Lucy Rogers (22:33, 77th) each crossed the finish line in the top-100 for the lady Wildcats, while junior Annie O'Donnell (22:55, 102nd), sophomore Kim Lang (23:51, 168) and freshman Allison Ruhe (24:40, 201) also factored in for the women, who collected 283 points.
"I'm very pleaseed," head coach Jen Straub said. "We've never finished in the top 10. It was a very strong showing."
The women will return to action when they compete at the Covered Bridge Invitational on Oct. 14 in Boone, N.C.
