Erin Osment
- Title:
- Volunteer Assistant Coach
Former All-American Erin Osment has joined the Davidson cross country and track and field staff as a volunteer assistant coach, Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Jen Straub recently announced.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to volunteer with the team, and look forward to learning about coaching and the dynamics of running a college program,” said Osment. “Coach Straub has been a wonderful mentor for me the past four years and I am happy to continue to work with both her and Coach Waldron. It should be a successful season.”
A 2015 graduate, Osment capped her four-year career with a stellar senior campaign. At the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championships, the senior captured conference titles in the 10,000-meter (34:36.74) and the 5,000 (16:32.86). Osment was named the 2015 Most Outstanding Track Performer.
The Atlanta, Ga., native went on to compete at the NCAA East Regional Meet. Seeded 28th out of 48 runners, Osment ran a gusty race to finish 11th and advance to the NCAA Championship. Her time of 34:37.86 set a new program best. Osment became just the third Davidson female track athlete to qualify for the NCAA Track Championships.
On track & field’s biggest stage, Osment placed 14th in the 10,000-meter, earning second-team All-America status. The senior crossed the line in 32:14.25 to set a new program mark.
