Winnie Corrigan
- Title:
- Assistant
Returning for her fourth season on the Wildcat coaching staff is Davidson alumna Winnie Corrigan ’01.
“Winnie’s passion for Davidson as a former student-athlete and her desire to see the soccer program reach new heights motivates her to work extremely hard with the recruiting process to find players who will add not only to the soccer team but to the college overall,” Ashton said of his assistant.
In addition to Corrigan’s invaluable recruiting role, Ashton emphasizes the importance of her appreciation for the rigors a Davidson student-athlete faces during the course of an intense competition season.
Prior to her return to Davidson, Corrigan spent a year at the State University of New York at Albany as an assistant women's soccer coach for the 2003-2004 season. She has also coached developing players in the club and ODP ranks, both in North Carolina and in New York State.
During Corrigan’s record-setting career with the ’Cats, she was named MVP of the 1999 team and selected to the All-SoCon First Team. The goalie also received the Class of 1986 Award and the Susan K. Roberts Award recognizing outstanding dedication and contribution to Davidson athletics. She holds the school’s single-season records for goals against average and shutouts and is among the top three career leaders in minutes, saves, goals against average and shutouts.
Corrigan holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.
