2021-22 (Senior): Swam to fifth at the Atlantic 10 Championships with the 800 free relay team • Also competed in multiple freestyle events • At the Bucknell Invitational, reached the B final in the 200 free and the C final in the 100 free • Also at Bucknell, swam to third with the 400 free relay team and to fourth with the 800 free relay.
2020-21 (Junior): Competed primarily in freestyle events.
2019-20 (Sophomore): Won the 200 free against VMI • Swam on top-10 relays at the Bucknell Invitational, including the 200 free relay (8th), 200 medley relay (9th) and 800 free relay (10th) • Reached the Bucknell Invitational finals in the 100 free, 200 free and 200 IM.
2018-19 (Freshman): Competed in individual medley, freestyle and backstroke events • Reached the C finals of the 400 IM at the Bucknell Invitational • Also at Bucknell, swam on the 15th-place 400 free relay team.
Before Davidson: A four-time all-conference selection at West Aurora High • Named varsity MVP all four seasons • Owns the school record in the 100 freestyle (48.22) • Swam club for Academy Bullets Swim Club, where the 2018 team was NCSA Junior Nationals runner-up.
Personal: Son of Eric and Kim McLaren • Born Sept. 10, 1999 • Brother, E.J., also attends Davidson • Also has a younger brother, Cael • His late father swam at North Central College in Illinois • Plans to study political science or English.
