2010: Played in all 11 games • Saw action on defense and special teams • Collected three tackles in the season opener against Georgetown • Credited with tackles against Jacksonville, Morehead State and San Diego • Named to PFL Academic Honor Roll.
2009: Played in all 10 games and made two starts • Compiled 16 tackles, including 10 solo stops • Had five tackles vs. Campbell • Recorded three solo hits vs. Lenoir-Rhyne • Had two solo stops at Jacksonville • Named to PFL Academic Honor Roll.
2008: Named to PFL Academic Honor Roll • Saw action in all 11 games • Posted tackles vs. Campbell, San Diego and Butler.
Prep Years: Four-year starter for coach Bob Lewis at Harrells Christian Academy • School record holder with 4,431 rushing yards and 67 total touchdowns (56 rushing, nine receiving and two defensive) • Named all-state as a sophomore and senior, three-time first-team all-conference and three-time first-team all-county • BEFIC Conference Player of the Year in 2007, Oasis Shrine Bowl Participant and Wendy’s Heisman State finalist • Also a three-time all-conference selection in baseball • Had the overall highest academic average all four years and was class Valedictorian • Belk Scholarship nominee.
Personal: Born Nov. 5, 1989 • The son of Greg and Alice Butler • Has a younger brother, Harrison • Great uncle, Freddie Butler Jr., played soccer at Davidson in the 1950s • Great uncle, Frank Butler, played soccer at North Carolina in the 1950s • Cousins Freddie Butler III and Bryan Butler attended Davidson, and cousin Paul Stroup is a current student at Davidson.
