Davidson College is an excellent liberal arts college with a unique tradition of intercollegiate athletics competition. The College considers physical education, recreational sports, and intercollegiate athletics an integral part of every student's education. Davidson supports a competitive athletics program at reasonable cost with equal opportunity for participation of men and women. Davidson will continue to comply with the requirements of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Title IX of the Civil Rights Act. The President of Davidson College insures that athletics policy is consistent with the educational goals and objectives of the College. Davidson students aspire to excellence in athletics, as in academics. The College seeks to maximize opportunities for student participation as athletes and spectators in a variety of sports. While respecting the policies and procedures of the NCAA, Davidson College will determine its own athletics policy.
