Earned a 3-11 mark at 157 as a freshman… Southern Conference Honor Roll… Won a 14-5 major decision over John Glunt of Belmont Abbey to start the season (11/3)… Defeated Zane Newton of Anderson by tech fall, 18-2, in 6:29 (11/24)… Earned a 14-2 major decision vs. Kyle Brezovec of Ohio Northern (1/8)… Dropped a tough 3-4 decision to Edward Gottwald of VMI (1/24)… Missed the rest of the season with an injury.
Before Davidson
A three-year letterwinner at 160 pounds for head coach Dan George at Long Branch High School.... The 2013 District 22 champion for his weight class, he was also a first team all-division and second-team all-Monmouth county honoree after racking up 76 career wins... A Region 6 Bronze medalist who finished in the top-10 at the N.J. State Tournament.... A four-year high honor roll member, he was a 2012 AP Scholar Award recipient and national honor society member... Also competed in track and football for the Green Wave.... The third Wildcat in the family, as father Ted (’78) played football for Davidson and sister Diane was a member of the class of 2013.... Twin brother, Chris, will be a member of the track team at nearby Wake Forest.
