WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Behind an extremely efficient night from Ariyana Johnson and Meile Songaila, Davidson took down the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in four sets (20-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-20) on Friday. Johnson finished with 13 kills and a .346 hitting percentage. Songaila recorded 14 kills, only two errors, and a .308 hitting percetange.

This marks the first win for the 'Cats over Wake Forest since 2022.

After dropping the first set 25-20, Davidson responded with a strong performance in the back row.. Ylame Dsamou and Elena Garcia-Guerrios combined for 11 digs in this frame. Meile Songaila also led the team with five kills in the second set. Songaila and Garcia-Guerrios each had two kills across the final five points. Davidson won the second set 26-24.

Davidson took a 5-4 lead in the third set and did not look back. The 'Cats led by as many as six points in this frame refused to give up the lead the rest of the way.

The Wildcats posted a .294 hitting percentage as a team in the fourth set.

Ngodoo Harris finished with six kills and a .417 hitting percentage.

Setters Kinsey Smith and Ylame Dsamou each made a significant impact. Smith had 25 assist and Dsamou had a season-high 19 assists along with a career-high 13 digs.

Adlee Grissett was very strong in the back row all match. The sophomore posted her first career double double with 14 digs and 12 assists.
