Friday's Series Opener Suspended With 'Cats Leading

PHILADELPHIA — Davidson led La Salle 17-13 in the eighth inning Friday evening, but ultimately, darkness won the day by forcing the Atlantic 10 game, which began at 3 p.m., to be suspended at DeVincent Field.
The series opener will be continued at 12 p.m. Saturday, with the second series game to follow.
Davidson took an early lead thanks to three-run home runs by Anthony Torreso and Forrest Lietz in the first and second innings, respectively. Torreso finished the day 4-for-4 at the plate.
Matt Manjooran was 3-for-5 and drove in five runs, including two on a triple in the seventh inning. Will Brooks had an RBI-triple in the fourth, and Theo Loughlin had a double to go with four walks.
