Faulkner and ‘Cats Wrap Up Spring Opener in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. – Nate Faulkner's final round score of ever-par 70 paced the Davidson men's golf team Tuesday on the final day of the 2026 Hal Williams Collegiate hosted by the University of South Alabama.
The 54-hole tournament was played on the 7,129-yard, Par 70 Magnolia Grove layout.
In addition to Faulkner (+11), Price Miller (+12), Jackson Bode (+12), Alexander Paschall (+12) and Davis Sayman (+13) were in the Wildcat lineup for the opener.
No. 13 Illinois (-31) led wire-to-wire to capture the team title by 15 strokes over Southern Miss (-16).
Nebraska's Rudy Sautron and the Illini's Ryan Vools shared individual medalist at 15-under 195.

Davidson will take three weeks off from tournament action before beginning its Spring Break swing at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Collegiate (March 9-10) followed by the Peoples Championship (March 12-14).
