Compas Records Career-High 19 Kills Despite Loss

RICHMOND, VA – Despite the five-set loss to VCU, Mia Compas recorded a career-high 19 kills with a .586 hitting percentage. Over the last three matches, Compas has posted 38 kills and only five attack errors.
Davidson dropped the opening set 25-22, but responded with a 25-22 win in set two and a 25-21 win in set three. The Wildcats led by as many as seven points in the second set. The third set was tied 18-18 and Davidson won seven of the final 11 points. Compas had 14 of her 19 kills across these first three sets.
The Wildcats lost set four 25-15 and set five 15-11.
Emma Slusser posted a season-high 10 kills, six digs, and five total blocks. Kinsey Smith and Ylame Dsamou contributed with a combined 52 assists.

Davidson hits the road again this weekend. The Wildcats battle the Rhode Island Rams on Friday and Saturday. First serve is at 5 p.m. on Friday followed by a Noon start on Saturday.
